More voices have joined the chorus of support for the Region of Peel remaining whole.
On December 13, Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Paul Calandra announced the Province had reversed its decision to dissolve the Region of Peel.
Caledon, Brampton, and Mississauga will continue to form the upper-tier municipality of the Region of Peel, and will no longer become independent.
Caledon’s Regional Councillor for Wards 1, 2 and 3, Christina Early, said she’s pleased with the Province’s reversal as she never felt dissolution was the right move in the first place.
