The Town is planning to celebrate its proud history of firefighting this year.
Mayor Annette Groves said firefighting is deeply woven into the fabric of Caledon’s history and culture.
“As we celebrate 100 years of dedicated service, we recognize the bravery and sacrifice of our firefighters. This milestone is not only a tribute to their unwavering commitment but also an opportunity for the community to come together and show appreciation for those who protect us,” said Groves.
According to a Town of Caledon media release, Caledon Fire and Emergency Services will host a variety of events this year to honour a century of bravery, innovation, and commitment to community safety.
Residents are encouraged to visit caledon.ca/fire to learn about upcoming events.
Caledon’s Fire Chief Dave Pelayo said the town’s firefighters reflect the spirit of community that defines Caledon and that he’s grateful to work alongside them.
“Firefighters are often the first on scene in times of crisis, putting their lives on the line to protect our families and our homes”, said Pelayo. “As we celebrate this significant milestone, I am immensely proud of our team’s pride in safeguarding lives and property.”
