Caledon Heritage Foundation to host AGM later this month

The annual general meeting of the Caledon Heritage Foundation will be Nov. 21 at the Old Caledon Township Hall (Theatre) in Caledon village.
The feature presentation will be entitled In the Footsteps if the Group of Seven by Sue and Jim Waddington. They have been on a quest to locate the places that inspired these seven famed painters, and they especially like to seek out sites that can only be reached by canoe or foot. In their talk, they will discuss how they have found some of these sites, and what they have learned about the artists in the process.
Since the artists did not keep detailed records of where they worked, each painting represents a puzzle to be solved.
Their book, In the Footsteps of the Group of Seven, (released in October) details their search for the sites that inspired the painters. It will be on sale at the meeting. All proceeds from the book sales will be donated to the fund for the new Franklin Carmichael Art Gallery in Sudbury.
The business meeting will start at 6:15 p.m. Light Refreshments will be served from 6:45 to 7:15, followed by the Waddingtons.
