A Bolton woman has been recognized for her outstanding volunteerism.
Recently, the Bolton Kin recognized Lori Schickedanz as their Kin of the Year. The award is given out annually to a volunteer who is a shining example of the Kin’s mission to serve the community’s greatest need.
Bolton Kin President Kathy McFarlane said Schickedanz truly exemplifies the Kin spirit.
“Lori does everything in our club, she supports everything,” said McFarlane.
McFarlane said Schickedanz is a big part of the Kin’s toonie clothing sales and hall management committee. She also helped to start a unique initiative to provide an affordable prom dress shopping experience for local youth.
Schickedanz has been volunteering with the Bolton Kin for six years. She’s a long-time Bolton resident, having lived there since 1966.
“I joined to have a fun time with a good group of people, and give back to the community,” said Schickedanz.
