Ball hockey league gets its 2015 season going

The Inglewood Ball Hockey League is back for another season.
The league got in its first night of action last Tuesday, and George’s Arena Sports are showing the early power, handily winning their game against Ron’s Tire Discounters. The other match of the evening was a lot closer, with Caledon Hills Cycling edging Carney Plumbing.

Donato Dorazio strapped on the pads for George’s and started the year out with a bang, earning the shutout for the opening night.
Anthony Villari from Ferdinando Colella, Sunny Gill from Villari, Luigi D’Agostino from Mike Volpe, Villari from Mario Perri, D’Agostino from Volpe and Volpe from Gill lit the lamp for George’s.

In a surprise turn of events, Caledon Hills Cycling, broke their 20 game losing streak and took the win from Carney Plumbing.
Mike Drew stood tall and turned away Carney’s shots to hold on for the win in the third frame.
Carney opened the scoring early in the first with Scott Churly from Jeff Rumbolt and Todd Elson. Caledon Hills Cycling answered back late in the frame with Kyle Dalcin from Kelvin Young finding the back of the net. Carney got the lone marker in the second when Rumbolt from Churly netted a power-play marker. The third saw Caledon Hills draw even with Albert Bettridge blasting one from the point (unassisted), and then take the lead with Young from Simon Nicholson and Peter Anselmi for the eventual winner.
