Baffo’s Athletes of the Week — December 12,

Mayfield Secondary School Sean-Douglas Murray This Grade 10 student has been making his contribution to the varsity basketball team, which was very impressive last Thursday when they beat Chinguacousy Secondary School 72-31. He also played middle for the junior boys’ volleyball team, which made it to the playoffs. The 15-year-old lives in Brampton with his parents Tracey and Wilton Murray.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Melanie Gallant This 17-year-old is the rookie goalie on the school’s ice hockey team, which has opened the season with a win and a tie. She has also played flag football and plans to play soccer in the spring. Away from school, she’s a forward in rep soccer in Orangeville. The Grade 12 student lives in Orangeville with her parents Patricia and Allen Gallant.

Humberview Secondary School Tyler Whitten This Grade 11 student is a centre for the varsity hockey team. The squad is getting off to a rough start, but he contributed four goals in their first four outings. He used to play second base and pitcher in the Bolton Braves organization, as well as house league soccer. The 16-year-old lives in Caledon with his parents Lynda and Dan Whitten.
