tilsonIt’s home show time again in Dufferin-Caledon.
Each spring, we can visit two home shows right in our backyard: the Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show and the Caledon Home Show. These home shows include terrific displays and demonstrations. They also provide us with an opportunity to increase our awareness of the tremendous variety of outstanding local businesses we have in our community, as well as their excellent products and services.
The first home show to take place this spring will be the annual Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show. The show will run from April 5 to 7. It will be held at the Orangeville Agricultural Building and Fairgrounds, in the Town of Mono (off Highway 10, just north of Orangeville). This home show promises to be full of many exhibitors covering a wide range of home and gardening projects.
The Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show continues to offer visitors exciting features, including nearly 230 exhibitor booths, which include 20 booths made available to not-for-profit organizations in our community. Since 2011, the food concessions have been located in the Banquet Hall to provide more comfort and greater variety to visitors. This year, food court seating will be expanded to the entire Banquet Hall. For more information, please visit the Club’s website at www.orangevillelions.org. Parking and admission to the show are free.
The second home show in Dufferin-Caledon to visit this April is the Caledon Home Show, hosted by the Caledon Chamber of Commerce. It will take place from April 19 to 21 at the Don Sheardown Memorial Arena (Albion-Bolton Community Centre), in Bolton. Admission and parking for the show are free. This highly-anticipated annual event has become a highlight of the spring season, featuring approximately 80 exhibitors and attracts approximately 3,000 to 4,000 visitors from all over Caledon and surrounding areas. Each year, many exhibitors can be found offering a wide range of local products and services, including windows and doors; kitchens; water systems; landscapers; and home renovations.
The Caledon Home Show also includes many other exciting activities throughout the weekend, including a penny raffle, door prizes and product demonstrations. This year, a stage is being added to the show for live entertainment which will include dancers, a school band, a school choir, and a reptile show. A concession booth will also be offered throughout the weekend. For more information on this home show, please feel free to contact the Caledon Chamber of Commerce at 905-857-7393 or visit their website at www.caledonchamber.com.
I will be participating in both home shows again this year. Please stop by my exhibitor booth at each of the shows and learn more about the various federal government services my constituency offices can provide to you and your family, including: information on passports, citizenship and immigration, income securities, and much more.
The Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show and the Caledon Home Show are fantastic local events to help you tackle all of your upcoming spring projects. I encourage you to come out to the shows to meet and learn more about the terrific businesses and organizations we have in our community. There is always something for everyone and every age, making them a perfect family outing.
