The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested two individuals with multiple drug and weapon related charges following the execution of three warrants in Alliston and Angus.
“In February 2024, Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began a drug trafficking investigation within Alliston and Angus,” say Police. “As a result of the investigation, officers were able to obtain search warrants.
On August 15, 2024, the warrants were executed at two residents and one storage facility by the OPP Nottawasaga CSCU, Caledon CSCU, Dufferin CSCU, and Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU).”
The following items were seized:
Express 70 12-gauge modified shot gun;
1 Ounce of Cocaine;
14 grams of Methamphetamine;
1.7 grams of Fentanyl;
42 Clonazepam tablets;
Drug trafficking indicia;
Stolen F-150 valued at approximately $10,000.
Sherri Crawford, 52, of Essa, was arrested and charged with:
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm;
Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition;
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose;
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000;
Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine;
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine;
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs;
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine;
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs;
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine;
Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;
Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – two counts.
Michael McCormack, 31, of Lisle, was arrested and charged with:
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm;
Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition;
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose;
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000;
Possession of Schedule Substance I Substance- Cocaine;
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine;
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs;
Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of Trafficking;
Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine;
Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine;
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs.
The charges have not been proven.
Both accused were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.
IMPAIRED CHARGES
Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a single motor vehicle collision with impaired operation.
“On August 17, 2024, shortly after 11:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on McLaren Road, near The Grange Side Road, in the Town of Caledon,” say Police. “No injuries were reported. During the investigation, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.”
As a result of the investigation, Harsimarjot Sidhu, 34, of Brampton, was charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
Operation while impaired – alcohol.
The charges have not been proven.
The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 5, 2024, to answer to the charges. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

STOLEN MOTORCYCLES RECOVERED
Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered stolen motorcycles and charged a local resident.
“On August 13, 2024, the Caledon OPP Community Street Crime Unit entered into a stolen vehicle investigation that led officers to a residence in Caledon,” say Police. “Later that same day, with the assistance of the Dufferin CSCU, a search warrant was executed. The motorcycles, motorcycle equipment, and a trailer were recovered.”
Lance Caines, 40, of Caledon, has been charged with:
Theft over $5000;
Possession of property obtained by Crime under $5000.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 26, 2024, to answer to the charges.
The charges have not been proven.

ATTEMPTED THEFT
Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a vehicle theft attempt.
“On August 19, 2024, shortly after 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a theft in progress on Foxchase Drive, in the Town of Caledon,” say Police. “A member of the community advised two individuals were actively attempting to steal a vehicle. When officers arrived, two individuals were located fleeing into a black 2022 Dodge Durango. While escaping, the Durango drove through the front lawn of the neighbouring home and struck one police cruiser, and two other vehicles.”
