A local arts non-profit has a wild new exhibition on display.

Headwaters Arts is now exhibiting its fourth members’ show of 2024, “Where the Wild Things Are”, in its gallery at the Alton Mill Arts Centre.

Sue Powell, Headwaters Arts marketing lead, said it’s a colourful and exploratory exhibition that showcases the untamed side of its 26 artists’ minds.

“The walls and displays are filled with an eclectic and unique selection of artwork,” said Powell.

Kirk Szmon, a Palgrave resident, has his piece “Red Fox” on display at the exhibition.

“As a nature lover, I often take walks in the woods or sit quietly watching the creatures that happen to cross my property,” he said. “It is the wild places and their inhabitants that compel me to try and capture in my art their simple moments as they go about their individual lives. It is a privilege when they let me in.”

An opening reception for the exhibition was held on June 1 where guests were able to meet the artists and chat about their artwork.

Where the Wild Things Are will be on display in Headwaters Arts’ gallery until July 1. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
