A couple of observations of apparent stunt driving in Bolton Jan. 12 led to charges against a 32-year-old resident of Vaughan.
Caledon OPP reports they were contacted by an off-duty police officer at about 7 p.m. regarding a vehicle that seemed to be going about 140 km-h in a posted 50 zone. The vehicle was also seen swerving within its marked lane.
The suspect vehicle, a white Mercedes AMG was eventually stopped on Regional Road 50, near Cedar Mills. During the stop, a second call was received regarding a driver going more than 100 km-h in a 50 zone.
The driver was charged with racing a motor vehicle. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
