Bolton resident Trudy Valier is taking another shot at getting elected to Caledon council.
She has announced her plans to make another run for the area council seat in Ward 5 (Bolton). She ran in the 2010 campaign, finishing fourth in a five-way race.
“Hopefully, this time I’m going to get in and make a difference,” she remarked. “I think it’s time for a change.”
Among the issues she’s hoping to address are safety on roads and trails, and there are also the concerns about the massive Canadian Tire development going in the industrial area of the village.
“I don’t think Canadian Tire has gone over very well,” she remarked.
She also pointed to the need to help local businesses, observing a number have closed lately, commenting that residential growth that’s planned properly around infrastructure and needed services will help.
Valier also observed taxes have been going up. “Hopefully, we can make a difference there,” she said, commenting that during the recent winter storms, a lot of people had trouble getting out. Taxes have been going up, but services are down, she said.
Commenting on her chances, Valier said she’s been attending a lot of events in the community.
“I’m letter people know I’m going to be out there,” she said. “I’m going to be available.”
