There were plenty of words of praise expressed last week, as the Town of Caledon said goodbye to Marc Seguin.
Seguin, a senior project manager with the Town, has moved on to take the post of manager of economic and community development with the Town on Innisfil.
He commented the new job will have him working closer to his home and family.
The Town’s Manager of Parks and Landscape Architect Brian Baird observed that Seguin had worked on a number of projects while at Caledon, including the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, site plan for the Johnston Sports Park and most recently helping to get things ready for Caledon hosting equestrian events at the 2015 Pan Am Games.
“You have made a difference and you will be missed,” Baird told him.
Mayor Marolyn Morrison commented on how great Seguin had been to work with.
“I think every councillor has enjoyed their association with Marc,” she said. “He gets things done and he gets them done well.”
She added she has attended a number of events with Seguin over the years, and has been impressed with the amount of respect with which he’s held in other municipalities.
“It was always a pleasure going places with him,” she said.
Seguin expressed his appreciation for the good wishes.
“Thank you to everyone here who made my job easy,” he said.
