The Town of Caledon and the Caledon Agricultural Society have formed an agreement regarding the public use of the lands and baseball diamond at the Caledon Fairgrounds.
The previous agreement was made in October 2008 with a five-year term, allowing the Town to give permits for the use of the diamond. Town staff thought the community benefitted from the previous agreement, so further changes were proposed to enhance the next.
The new agreement opens up access to the diamond, parking areas and other facilities, such as washrooms and baseball equipment to the public in addition to baseball teams with permits. In lieu of payment to the Caledon Agricultural Society, the Town will maintain the road, washrooms and equipment as well as share the costs of hydro and repairs.
