Mayfield Secondary School
Madison Firth
This 18-year-old played defence on the girls’ varsity hockey team, which advanced to the quarter-finals of ROPSSAA. She played on the school’s flag football team in the fall, and is looking forward to rugby in the spring. In the community, she plays rep hockey in the Brampton Canadettes’ organization, and she’s also a hockey instructor in Brampton. The Grade 12 student lives in Brampton.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School
Stephanie Caleca
This Grade 10 student played defence on the varsity hockey team, which made it to the quarter-finals of ROPSSAA. She’s looking forward to playing midfield on the varsity field lacrosse team. In the community, she plays rep hockey in the Oakville Hornets’ organization. The 15-year-old lives in Caledon East.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School
Michael Carnevale
The 17-year-old helped hold down the right wing on the school’s varsity hockey team, which made it to the semifinals of ROPSSAA. Away from school, he plays AA hockey for the Caledon Hawks’ midget team, which made it to the OMHA finals. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton.
Humberview Secondary School
Natashia Fernandez
This Grade 12 student plays singles on the senior girls’ badminton team, and she’s undefeated so far this season. She said she’s been playing about nine years. In the community, when she’s not playing badminton in Thornhill, she likes to ride dirt bikes and snow boards. The 17-year-old lives in Palgrave.
