Dufferin-Caledon MP Davis Tilson recently hosted his annual Seniors Information Expo together with the Caledon Seniors Council, at St. James’ Anglican Church, in Caledon East.
Tilson, who performed the role of emcee, introduced each of the four speakers to the seniors in attendance.
“Each year, my office works with the Caledon Seniors Council to identify topics of interest and concern for our local senior community,” he said. “Today, we had four outstanding speakers presenting valuable information which assists seniors to be healthy, engaged, and active. Not only is this the aim of today’s event, but also for our government.”
Members of the Caledon Seniors Council, as well as many local residents joined Tilson at the Expo to hear four presentations on various topics including: mass marketing fraud and cybercrime; senior fitness; emergency preparedness; and long term care. Special guest speakers included Brock Godfrey (Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre) and Constable Jennifer George (RCMP); Jennifer Doig (Body By Jen); Cheryl Jamieson (Emergency Preparedness, Region of Peel); and Candace Chartier (Ontario Long Term Care Association).
