Subway Athletes of the Week — June 19, 2014

Mayfield Secondary School Cassandra Toutou This 15-year-old makes her mark in track and field, having qualified for OFSSAA in the long jump. Her best performance in that is 4.73 metres, and she also does the 100-metre dash. Away from school, she plays point guard in the Brampton Minor Basketball Association, and also takes part in the City of Brampton School of Dance. The Grade 9 student lives in Brampton with her parents Charles and Yvonne Toutou.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Maria Panacci This Grade 12 student played defence for the school’s varsity soccer team, which made it to the semifinals this season. Away from school, she plays under-18 soccer in the Caledon Wildcats organization in Caledon East. The 17-year-old lives in Bolton with her mother Toni Cellucci.

This Grade 12 student played defence for the school’s varsity soccer team, which made it to the semifinals this season. Away from school, she plays under-18 soccer in the Caledon Wildcats organization in Caledon East. The 17-year-old lives in Bolton with her mother Toni Cellucci.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Evan Kievaszewicz This 17-year-old was one of the goalies on the senior boys’ soccer team which took the title at OFSSAA last weekend. He backstopped the side in the semifinals and finals, with both games being settled by shootouts. He was also a member of the senior boys’ volleyball team. The Grade 11 student lives in Bolton with his parents Lisanne and Paul Kievaszewicz.

Humberview Secondary School Casey Howard This Grade 9 student was the shortstop for the varsity girls’ softball team. Things didn’t go as well as hoped, but she’s expecting “better luck next year.” She also tried flag football in the fall until an injury sidelined her. In the community she used to play in the Brampton Girls’ Softball Association and also rides horses. The 14-year-old lives in Caledon East with her parents Lisa and Steve Howard.
