May 29, 2013   ·   0 Comments

How to respond to illegal immigration will be discussed at the next session of Lifetree Café this coming Wednesday (June 5).
The program, entitled Kids Without a Country: An Illegal Immigrant’s Story, features the filmed story of Reyna Grande, who crossed the border with her family illegally when she was nine years old.
The Lifetree program explores the challenges facing immigration reform, including issues surrounding children of illegal immigrants.
Grande, now a teacher and author, describes the border crossing and her subsequent life as an undocumented alien. She’s the author of The Distance Between Us.
The program runs from 7 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Snacks and beverages will be available. Lifetree Café is at 6025 Old Church Rd. in Caledon East, in the café space in St James’ Church.
Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Bruce Neville at 416-579-9977 or Desiree Neville at 416-579-6748.
