Stanley Cup will be in King City Sunday

July 11, 2013   ·   0 Comments

King City native and Chicago Blackhawks left winger Daniel Carcillo will be visiting his home town Sunday, and he’ll be bringing the Stanley Cup with him.
The celebration will take place at the King City Community Centre and Arena from noon to 3 p.m. The event will include a free barbecue and an opportunity to see the Cup and get a picture with Carcillo.
The Township of King has extended congratulations to Carcillo and Blackhawks Assistant Coach Mike Kitchen, originally from Schomberg, on winning the Stanley Cup.
“I am absolutely thrilled that one of our local boys is part of this amazing victory for a second time,” said King Mayor Steve Pellegrini. “Back in 2010, Nick Boynton brought the Stanley Cup to King and now Daniel Carcillo is bringing it home again.”
“King is definitely a hockey town and we look forward to celebrating this historic event,” he added.

This event is being sponsored by RBC – King City.
