With the 2nd Annual Legacy Golf Classic set to return this September 2, spots are already filling up, underscoring the community’s support for this new annual tournament.

The Legacy Golf Classic, presented by the Allan and Anne Thompson Community Fund, is an annual golf tournament focused on supporting the community.

The tournament is a premium event designed to connect the Caledon and agricultural community through a “pro-tour” hospitality experience.

Both the 2025 tournament and the future 2026 tournament named the Caledon Agricultural Society and their $3 million Capital Campaign as their Major Grant recipient.

“The incredible work of the Anne and Allan Thompson Community Fund has been a catalyst for change. Through the Legacy Golf Tournament, they are helping us build more than just a community centre—they are securing a legacy of generational

betterment for the Caledon Agricultural Society,” says Ed Taccone, President of the Caledon Agricultural Society.

CAS plans to build a new 15,000-sq-ft community centre to serve the Caledon community, and the funds from the Legacy Golf Classic bring them one step closer.

“This event is built on the shared commitment to the future of our community,” says

Allan Thompson, event co-founder. “By expanding our capacity this year, we are able to significantly increase our support for vital projects, including the Caledon Agricultural

Society’s efforts to build a new community and recreational hub.”

The Allan and Anne Thompson Community Fund operates through a sustainable funding model: 75 per cent of proceeds are distributed as immediate grants, while 25 per cent is directed to the permanent endowment, which continues to support the community.

With last year’s inaugural event a smashing success, registration is already picking up for this year’s Golf Classic.

Stand-alone golfer foursomes registration has already reached capacity, and a waiting list has been made for those hoping to participate with a foursome.

“Interest in this event has been strong, due in no small part to people wanting to

experience these absolutely spectacular facilities right here in our own community,” says

Anne Thompson, event co-founder.

The event will take place at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley again, this year utilizing both the North and Hoot championship courses, “to provide golfers with a premier, ‘bucket-list’ experience.”

“The Humeniuk family and their entire team are just as committed to success in Caledon as we are. They make exceptional event partners and we are very lucky to have both this facility and them as part of our community,” says Anne Thompson.

With their 2025 event raising $110,200 in net proceeds, this year’s event is already growing, with the 2026 event set to accommodate 288 golfers.

Those who register will have the opportunity to play across two of Canada’s top-ranked championship courses.

Sponsorship opportunities are also still available, which was said to be ideal for businesses or organizations looking to align with this event, invest in Caledon’s long-term sustainability, and secure golfing participation.

Registration is available online, and organizers encourage early action to secure a spot.
