Some delays in garbage collection

December 19, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Some Caledon residents will be experiencing one-day delays in the collection of their garbage over the holidays.
Residents who have their garbage regularly collected Tuesdays will not see a change, but everyone else will experience a one-day delay for both the week of Dec. 23 and Dec. 30.
The Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) will be open during regular hours and days of the week throughout the holiday period, with exceptions. All CRCs will close at 4:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day and Dec. 26. They will close again at 4:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve and remain closed New Year’s Day.
Christmas trees will be collected during the week of Jan. 13 on regular waste collection days. Christmas trees must not exceed three metres (10 feet) in length. Remove all outer plastic bags, ornaments, tinsel, nails, wire and tree stands. Christmas trees buried in snowbanks will not be picked up. Residents may also drop off their Christmas trees at CRCs, where regular drop-off fees will apply.
