January 29, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Caledon Chamber Concerts will present the third performance in the 2013-2014 series Feb. 1.
The concert will feature the Serenade Ensemble. Violinist Arkady Yanivker and pianist Elina Kelebeev will present a program that includes works by Beethoven, Mozart, Ravel, Strauss and Rossini.
Much in demand as a violin soloist and ensemble performer, Yanivker’s first major solo appearance was at the age of 13 with the Odessa Symphony Orchestra in the U.S.S.R. He came to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in 1978, where he became well-known on the music scene as a violin soloist and chamber player.
Pianist Elina Kelebeev has graced Canadian and international stages since the age of 12, when she became the highest-scoring prize-winner of the Canadian Music Competitions. A laureate of competitions, including the Chopin International in Gottingen, this multi-faceted young artist is also a sought-after chamber musician. In 2008, she became the only pianist to be awarded a full scholarship by the Centre of Opera Studies in Sulmona (Italy).
The concert will be at 8 p.m. at St. James’ Church, Caledon East. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for students 16 years and younger, and may be purchased at BookLore, Forster’s Book Garden and Howard the Butcher. Tickets will also be available at the door.
