An informative event was held at the Caledon Seniors Centre last week.
On February 20, the Caledon Seniors Centre (CSC) held its biannual 55+ Active Living & Wellness Fair. The event is dedicated to connecting older adults to health and wellness services available in their area. The fair featured a wide array of exhibitors in the non-profit and for-profit sectors, a free lunch for attendees, program demonstrations and guest speakers.
Caledon Seniors Centre manager Beverly Nurden said the event is great for informing seniors of services they could benefit from that they don’t know about.
Angie Giusto, owner of Golden Transitions Consulting, a company that specializes in events like the 55+ Active Living & Wellness Fair, worked with the Caledon Seniors Centre to help organize the recent event.
She said she was proud to bring many local vendors to the fair. For seniors and caregivers, Giusto said attending a hands-on, in-person event is the best way to learn about what’s out there.
“Seeing it all come to fruition, seeing seniors going table to table and getting that information… you can also see the vendors meeting all the other vendors and networking… seeing that, you feel good,” said Giusto.
