Seniors and low-income households get help with repairs and renovations

Peel Region is now accepting applications for Peel Renovates, a program that provides eligible seniors and low-income households with one-time assistance of up to $15,000 per household for major home repairs and accessibility renovations.
Eligible applicants must have a household annual gross income of less than $60,000 and reside in Peel. Eligible homes in Caledon must have an assessed value of less than $525,501. Applicants have to want to undertake renovations and/or repairs that are related to structural, electrical, plumbing, heating, fire safety or accessibility.
Residents can apply by telephone by calling 905-793-9200. The application process may take up to 45 minutes to complete.
Complete applications will require address and most recent Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) property assessment notice; the names and dates of birth of all family members within the household; immigration status for all family members; income, assets and tax returns for all family members; and expenses (child care, disability related work expenses, etc.)
