On Nov. 7, the Caledon Senior Centre (CSC) will be hosting its annual Craft, Bake and Silent Auction Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Caledon Senior Centre, Rotary Place.
This sale is one of CSC’s largest fundraising events of the year and has something to offer to all.
The Caledon Seniors Centre serves approximately 2,500 members, providing recreation, education, wellness opportunities and meaningful social connections. As demand for senior-focused programs continues to grow, fundraising events like the Craft, Bake and Silent Auction play an important role in helping the centre sustain its programs and services that enrich the lives of local seniors.
Community members are encouraged to come early, bring their friends and family, and enjoy a morning of shopping, delicious treats and community spirit.
The sale will have a variety of items to choose from, including handcrafted items, baked goods and exciting silent auction items.
One highlighted section of the sale will be the handcrafted items created by participants and members from the Caledon Senior Centre’s painting and woodworking classes.
Manager of Caledon Seniors Centre Beverley Nurden says that events like these are so important as they showcase the talent of the people in the community.
“Events like this are about so much more than fundraising. They bring our community together and showcase the incredible creativity, generosity and talent of the people who make our centre so special,” says Nurden. “Every purchase and every winning bid helps support programs and activities that keep adults aged 55 and older active, connected and thriving.”
In addition to perusing the tables, attendees will also be able to step in and explore the Team Room, which is a designated space to take a break.
The Nearly New Room is an additional room that will be filled with items that are slightly used but still in good condition, a perfect room to try and find items for family and friends.
For those foodies at heart, there will be a MacGregor’s Meat and Seafood Sale, Krispy Kreme doughnuts (individual or by the dozen) and Purdy’s Chocolate to satisfy the sweet tooth.
There’s something for everyone, and plenty of opportunities to get your holiday shopping started early!
Throughout the event, raffle tickets will be for sale, and participants will have a chance to win six amazing grand prizes, which include $1,000 cash, Niagara Falls Escape (value $892), $500 cash, $200 gift cards, Keurig with Coffee Pods (value $142), and lottery tickets (value $66).
Tickets will be sold until the draw happens at 2 p.m.
Come for the treasures, stay for the community spirit, and help make a difference in the lives of Caledon’s seniors.
