Santa welcomed back to Caledon village

The Caledon Village Association had a big welcome already for Santa Claus Saturday night, putting on their biggest parade ever. The parade formed up in the parking lot of Caledon Central Public School and made its way through the village to Knox United Church for a community celebration. Santa Claus travelled in the parade in style, with help from Caledon Fire and Emergency Services.

Rocky, the Husky mascot from Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School, was among the school’s representation in the parade.

Riding on the Town of Caledon Float was Councillor Barb Shaughnessy, Mayor Allan Thompson, Inspector Tim Melanson of Caledon OPP and Councillor Doug Beffort.

The festivities included the presentation of this cheque for $200 to the Caledon village firefighters from the Caledon Optimists. Paul Reder, Eric Mileham, Jake Haines, David Lambert, Ted Simmonds and Sue Montgomery made the presentation to Melinda Elen, Sandra Graham, Brandon Quirk, Ryan East and Eric Brown.
