Rutherford tightens grip on lead in men’s hockey

Jim Horan and Bernie Tisdale kept Rutherford Global Logistics in first place in the Caledon Senior Hockey League with their blazing offensive guns in an 11-5 dismantling of George’s Arena Sports last Monday.
Horan struck for four goals and three assists while Tisdale ran up eight points on three goals and five assists. That widened Rutherford’s lead in the tight CSHL standings to two points over Bolton Chiropractic Centre, which downed Fines Ford Lincoln 5-2. In the other game, Yale Industrial Trucks created a three-way tie for third place with a 5-3 win over Jiffy Lube Oilers.

Rutherford 11, George’s 5
Peter Coghill matched Tisdale’s hat trick with three goals of his own for Rutherford, while Bob McHardy notched a goal and three assists.
Bill Frolick and Dominic Spignasi had two assists each with singles going to Bob Smith, Romas Krilavicius and Ted Callighen.
Bret Smith and Dave Smith (no relation) led George’s with three points each. Bret had two goals and one assist while Dave did the opposite. Jim Rogers and Dave Geiger both had a goal and an assist. Maurizo Giorgio grabbed two assists with Gary Faultless getting one.
Bolton Chiropractic 5, Fines Ford 2
Dave Armstrong was the spark plug for the Chiropractors along with Rick Agar.
Armstrong had two goals and an assist while Agar chipped in a goal and two assists. Jeff Boyles and Mike Shore each had a goal and an assist. Howard Wight and Bruno Fracassi both notched two assists.
Bill Davis led Fines Ford with two goals while Jack Gibson had two assists. Ian Kerr and Dan Labine each had one assist.
Yale 5, Jiffy Lube 3
Joe (The Barber) Guaragna led the way for Yale with two goals and an assist while Nick Taccogna was right with him with a goal and two assists.
Garth Young scored a goal and added an assist while Tony Calabro scored Yale’s other goal. Steve Tarasco had two assists with John Castellucci getting one.
Jim Moyer had a goal and an assist for Jiffy Lube while Luch Pinarello and Joe Palumbo scored the other goals. Bill Doherty, Bill Jenner and Brian Fetterly all had one assist.
The previous week saw the first tie of the season, and the second win of the campaign for the Fines Ford .
