January 16, 2014   ·   0 Comments

A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot checked helped nab a suspected drinking driver near Inglewood Dec. 8.
Caledon OPP reports officers had a spot scheck set up shortly after 8 p.m. in the area of Olde Base Line Road and Mclaughlin Road. A red 1995 GMC Sierra pick up approached and when officers spoke with the male driver, they detected an odour of alcohol along with slurred speech. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for testing.
A 55-year-old Caledon man was charged with driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system. His licence was suspended and his truck was impounded for seven days.
