International business and environmental experts will share their knowledge and best practices of energy management at the ninth annual Energy Matters Summit.
The two-day conference will take place May 6 and 7 at the Toronto Congress Centre.
The Summit is being hosted by Peel Region, in partnership with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) and Building Owners and Managers Association of the Greater Toronto Area (BOMA Toronto). This year’s theme is Turning Energy Plans into Results; the focus will be on how to make energy plans more measurable and results-driven.

The Summit will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, educational workshop sessions, a tradeshow exhibition and networking sessions. World-renowned speakers and influential leaders will include former United States assistant energy secretary Christine Ervin, Energy Networks at C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group Director Jonathan Laski, Vice-President and Head of Business Development and Canadian Operations for Direct Energy Business Nick Henn, Dr. Karen Lee, director of Built Environment and Active Design for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Alexandros E. Washburn, visiting professor at the University of New South Wales, and chief urban designer of the City of New York, Department of City Planning.
Workshop sessions will explore clean energy technologies; energy environment and sustainability planning; building energy-efficiency targets; effective consumer, employee and community engagement; and enabling distributed generation.
