Reduce waste this week

This is Waste Reduction Week in Caledon (Oct. 21 to 27).
Town council passed the proclamation of the week at their meeting Tuesday.
The motion noted the generation of solid waste and the needless waste of water and energy are seen as global environmental problems, also pointing out that provincial governments have an important role to play in promoting waste reduction, as well as reuse, recycling, composting, etc. It also stated that communities, businesses and organizations across the country have committed to working together to raise awareness of these issues.
