Shannon Turnbull has been a veteran of mortgage brokering in Bolton for the past three decades. Having grown up and observed her entire career in the town, she is at home in every sense with what she does, running The Mortgage Centre at 43 Queen Street North. With fifteen agents working alongside her, Turnbull avows that “we pride ourselves on our customer service. We put the client first, always”, even if that means turning down business for the best interests of their customer.

The motto of Mortgage Centre is “service, knowledge, options.” Since their opening in 2006, their agents have consistently and successfully procured the best deals for their clients in mortgages, refinancing, and renewals, the latter for which they charge no fee to switch to between institutions. “We do not charge for our services,” says Turnbull, “unless the person does not qualify in the regular route of banking and we cannot find a solution, and then we find alternatives.”

Mortgage Centre agents provide the same service as any bank, but with a far greater knowledge of the marketplace, giving them unlimited options for finding their clients the best rates and deals by providing a boutique service.

In a regular bank, there is often a lot of personnel shuffle from branch to branch, part-time employees, and turnover. That’s not the case with the Mortgage Centre, where “there’s no movement. If we’re here, we’re here”, and a customer deals with one agent from start to finish.

“We know a product across the realm,” continues Turnbull. “You’re getting a different knowledge base [than you would with a bank]. We are shopping a product from a variety of lenders.” A single bank may provide you with the best option they have, “but they don’t know what’s best for you across the board. We can provide discounted rates at the competition level.”

“Right now,” continued Turnbull, “rates in the past couple of months have dropped significantly lower than they were in 2018. We have promotions going on all the time, feel free to give us a call and find out. We have a secured loan for any purpose, up to $30,000, at an only 8.99 percent interest rate.”
