The varsity hockey team at Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School are tops in Peel.
The Hall squad took the ROPSSAA championship last week with a 5-2 victory over their foes from Applewood in Mississauga. Head Coach Mike Mattachini said his men played their best hockey of the season in the final match.
The game was delayed a couple of weeks due to weather.
There were 19 teams in the loop that the Wolfpack prevailed over.
Mattachini said they faced the team from Iona Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga in the quarter-finals and dropped them 4-1.
The top seeded Port Credit Secondary School provided the opposition in the semifinals, and Hall had to come from behind to secure the 3-2 victory.
The team included goalies John Duggan and Diego D’Alessandro; defensemen Mauro D’Alessandro, Levi Smith, Patrick Vaughn, Adam Kennedy, Anthony Sigismondo and Mathew Nelson; and forwards Brenden Sellan, Remy Dalben, Noah DoPaco, Evan Kiser, Justin Pulis, Jordan Grella, Vito Sica, Patrick Abbott, Brayden Davis, John Matich and Alec Deguisti. Assisting Mattachini behind the bench were Len Tee, Jim VanderDoleon and Jason Sweeney.07-hall – 5.5
