Orangeville Chorus brings home two medals

May 26, 2017   ·   0 Comments

The Orangeville Chorus of Sweet Adelines International recently headed off to Syracuse, N.Y. for the 42nd Annual Convention, and they came home with medals.
Orangeville Chorus members were thrilled with their placement of second in Division AA (31 to 60 members) and also placed fourth out of the 15 choruses competing, earning 569 points.
Master Director Joan Borden was extremely pleased with these results and thought they did a “great job.”
Region 16, with choruses on both sides of Lake Ontario, is a very competitive region, but all anyone can ever do is “our very best” which the Orangeville group did.
This year, there were 14 Canadian choruses and four American choruses, but sadly one had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Canadian Showtime and North Metro were not participating, but were there for evaluation only.
As they won last year, they will be representing Region 16 in Las Vegas in October.
There were also 11 quartets, who did extremely well.
Orangeville Chorus invites everyone to drop by the TD Canada Trust tent at the Blues and Jazz Festival June 4 at noon and hear more from this award winning chorus.
In September, they will be looking for new members to join, so watch for the notices for Guest Nights in local newspapers.
