Caledon OPP reports they were called out early last Friday (Dec. 11) afternoon after hearing of two males dressed in camouflage clothing, including hunter orange toques and vests, north of the Mayfield Community Centre on Bramalea Road.
Police said they got the call at about 12:15 p.m.
Further information revealed that the males appeared to be carrying hunting rifles.
As a precautionary measure, Mayfield Secondary School and James Grieve Public School were placed in hold and secure while police conducted the investigation.
The hold and secure measures were lifted about half an hour later, once the investigation was completed and police were able to determine that there was no threat to public safety.
