Monday marked the first day of leadership change at Caledon OPP.
Interim Detachment Commander Dom Beckett, who had been serving in the role since September, passed the torch to Inspector Tim Melanson, former operations manager at Nottawasaga OPP.
“Inspector Tim Melanson brings 27 years of police service and a wide cross section of policing experience to his new role,” Beckett said. “Inspector Melanson’s leadership and the depth of his policing experience will be of great benefit to the Caledon Detachment.”
“I look forward to working closely with the Town of Caledon, the mayor and council and the residents of this community,” Melanson commented. “Having been an integral part of a neighbouring community, I feel that my experience and knowledge will be of great benefit and I am looking forward to new challenges.”
Melanson replaces Superintendent Rose DiMarco who served as Caledon’s detachment commander from June 2009 until September.
