More all-way stops on WCB

July 4, 2014   ·   0 Comments

New all-way stop signs have been approved along Winston Churchill Boulevard at its intersections with Ballinafad Road/Erin Halton Hills Townline and Olde Base Line Road.
Peel Regional council recently approved the changes recommended by staff.
These intersections were reviewed as a part of the Winston Churchill Boulevard Detailed Design to enhance safety on the road. The new all-way stops will precede future road improvements which will aim to level some of the curves along Winston Churchill in order to improve traffic visibility.
The two-way stop at Winston Churchill and Ballinafad Road will become a four-way stop, while the one-way stop at the “T” intersection of Winston Churchill and Olde Base Line will become a three-way stop.
In addition, the flashing beacon on Winston Churchill and Ballinafad Road will be converted from amber to red for all directions of travel in order to alert drivers to the change.
