The Caledon Hawks minor bantam squad has been struggling this season, but now that the playoffs are here, they continue to put out their best effort.
The squad played their sixth game of the playoffs Sunday against Brampton, but came up short and had to settle for loss.
“They kept their cool today,” said head coach Guy Dorval.
The team came alive in the third period, something Dorval said they are usually good at.
The squad has improved steadily as the season progressed.
“I can’t say anything bad about this team,” Dorval said. “They turned it around 180 degrees since the start of the season.”
In Sunday’s game, the team faltered in the second period, then re-grouped in the third, playing a good game and getting opportunities. They just couldn’t find the back of the Brampton net.
After completing the OHA playoffs, the team will go on to the tri-county level.
Minor hockey playoffs are now in full swing with teams across Ontario playing for the top spots.
