Millpond Hockey Classic raised funds for environmental project

March 19, 2014   ·   0 Comments

This year’s Alton Millpond Hockey Classic, held in January at the historic Alton Mill pond, was a great success.
The fifth annual edition of the Classic was another fantastic community event, featuring authentic pond hockey for all ages including boys and girls’ minor hockey teams and men and women’s games as well.
In all, the event raised $9,700 for the Alton Millpond Rehabilitation Project. The proceeds were presented to the Alton Millpond Rehabilitation Project committee last week.
Organizers are extending many thanks to all those who attended both the Classic and the sold-out Hot Stove Lounge pub night in the evening.

Gathering on the Alton Millpond recently were Jeremy Grant, Alton Mill co-owner and Millpond Classic co-chair; Kevin Trimble, Alton resident and Millpond Rehab Project Committee representative; Randy Ugolini, Millpond Classic co-chair; Councillor Doug Beffort, Classic committee member; and Bob Crease, Classic committee treasurer.
