Mayfield rowers do well in Barrie

The Mayfield Secondary School Maverick Rowing team had many successes recently at the Barrie Regatta.
Gold medal winners included the senior boys’ eight, Gavin Stone as stroke, Daniel and Chris Manson, Cameron Frail, Andrew White, Michael Cordi, Travis Kennedy and star Riley Elder. The coxie was Kayla Jackson.
The novices made it down the course three times and survived the rough choppy water in the afternoon.
Third place finishers were the senior boys’ quad, senior girls quad, senior women’s four and Sam Ruder in a single.
Second place finishers include the senior girls eight.
