A 39-year-old man from Brampton was charged with a couple of offences April 4 after a Caledon OPP officer spotted a vehicle being driven erratically in Bolton.
Police report the officer noticed the vehicle at about 4:15 p.m. on Regional Road 50, observing it went through a red light and hit a raised sidewalk. The officer pulled the vehicle over, and upon speaking to the driver he immediately detected the small of alcohol on his breath. There were other signs of impairment as well.
The man was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system and offences under the highway Traffic Act.
His licence was suspended for 90 days on the spot and the vehicle was impounded for seven.
