Look for volunteers to nominate

January 9, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones is alerting organizations that work with volunteers to consider nominating individuals for this year’s Volunteer Service Awards (VSA) program through Ontario’s Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.
“In 2014, thousands of volunteers will be recognized across Ontario with this award and it would be great to have some of our communities’ best acknowledged for their efforts,” said Jones.
“Volunteers do not give of their time to be awarded; however, it is these selfless heroes who think of others before themselves and deserve recognition,” she added. “By nominating volunteers in the VSA program, you can help highlight the significance of volunteerism in our community.”
The deadline for nominations is Jan. 25. If any nominations are received after that date, the nomination will be held over for the following year.

“As the MPP for Dufferin-Caledon, I am pleased to highlight the work of our volunteers and I encourage our organizations who work with volunteers to consider nominating a deserving individual or individuals for their contributions in our community,” Jones said.
