Jazz-lovers are in for a treat, as a fourth season of local concerts is set to start near Schomberg.
Host and jazz artist Michele Mele is presenting a fantastic series of concerts.
“This year is going to be really fantastic,” she declared. “We’ve got some great shows booked.”
The first is slated for Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.
This marks the return of Italian jazz icon Cettina Donato, accompanied by Canadian TMA Lifetime Achievement recipient Neil Swainson on bass and the great Daniel Barnes on drums. Mele will be performing as well on piano and vocals with Swainson and Barnes.
On tap Oct. 21 will be the Don Naduriak Latin Jazz band, with Canadian trombonist Russ Little, world-renown flutist Bill McBirnie, Naduriak on keys among other greats.
Nov. 18, they welcome the Ross Wolldridge Band, featuring Canada’s Darling Alex Pangman on vocals.
Dec. 16 will be a special Christmas show with Canada’s own Guido Basso on flugel horn Bernie Senensky piano and others.
The concerts are held at the home of Michele Mele and Luciano Tauro at 15785 Concession 8, Schomberg. Mele offers up her Fazioli piano, considered one of the best in the world.
