At a recent all-candidates’ meeting in Bolton, the issue of trails was raised for comment.
One candidate complimented the Humber Valley Heritage Trail Association, saying that it has done a good job, but more money needs to be budgeted for it.
While it is true that the multi-use Caledon Trailway, which also accommodates cyclists, is funded by the Town of Caledon, the Humber Valley Heritage Trail is a completely volunteer-run, pedestrian-only trail that raises all of its money from memberships and fundraising. What HVTA does need is more volunteers to assist in maintaining our trails. The annual family membership is only $20 and we welcome everyone to attend our monthly meetings and to participate in managing their trail.
