Caledon Fire and Emergency Services reports there were no injuries after this house on King Street, west of Torbram Road, caught fire Sunday afternoon. The fire department reports it got the 9-1-1 call at about 5:46 p.m. Crews from the Caledon East station responded and found heavy smoke from the bungalow when they arrived. They started an offensive fire attack and initiated a rural water shuttle operation. Crews briefly withdrew from the interior of the house because of the heavy heat and zero visibility. Once outside, the structure was ventilated and the main body of fire was knocked down. Crews re-entered the house to initiate a primary search and conduct overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $400,000.
