Historical society to learn about heritage trees

April 17, 2013   ·   0 Comments

What exactly is a heritage tree?
The Caledon East and District Historical Society will be learning about that at their April 24 meeting.
The speaker will be Joanne Crease, vice-chair of Heritage Caledon, and she will talk about Ontario’s and Caledon’s forest make-up, the contribution of trees to cultural history and why some heritage trees deserve recognition. She will also tell stories about some heritage trees in Caledon.
The talk will begin at 7:30 p.m. at St. James’ Church on Old Church Road in Caledon East. Society members get in free and there’s a $3 charge for non-members.
