Former councillor Annette Groves wants her old seat back.
The former Regional representative for Calderon Ward 5 (Bolton) has registered to run in this fall’s municipal election.
“I’ve been asked by a lot of people to run,” the long-time resident of Bolton commented.
Groves spent 10 years on council, serving at both the area and Regional levels. She ran for mayor in 2010, losing to Marilyn Morrison.
“I believe that I have the skills set and the experience to do the job and do it well,” she commented, adding she’s been hearing calls for accountability that she said currently isn’t there. She also said people are saying the community isn’t being informed.
She also observed there’s been concern that taxes have been going up over the last couple of years, with no corresponding improvement in services.
Groves is a partner in a walk-in clinic in south Etobicoke.
“I think I have a very good chance of winning,” Groves said. “It all comes down to hard work.”
