GOODBYE MR. STEGEMAN Ellwood Memorial Public School’s retiring principal John Stegeman insisted on being photographed with students his last day on the job. “It has been an amazing journey,” he had previously stated in his retirement speech as he reflected on 55 years he’s been in school, both as a student and teacher. He was principal at Ellwood for seven and a half years. “I couldn’t have wished for a better school to retire from because every day was a great day at Ellwood Memorial.” He also said in retirement, he plans to travel with his wife, try to play some golf, read and continue volunteering in town.
