A 33-year-old man from Thornhill was charged May 28 after police spotted a car running a stop sign in Terra Cotta.
Caledon OPP reports officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check at around 2:30 p.m. when they spotted the black Chrysler fair to stop. They approached the car to deal with this infraction, and immediately detected a strong smell coming from within, which they believed was marijuana. Police said the driver then produced a quantity of the substance.
The man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.
