Mayfield Secondary School
Gavin Stone
This Grade 12 student is middle linebacker for the senior boys’ football team, which won their first three games of the season. He ran one interception in for a touchdown. He’s also involved in nordic skiing and rowing. Away from school, he’s a member of the Mono Nordic Ski Team and rows out of Island Lake in Orangeville. The 17-year-old lives in Brampton with his parents Bill and Terri Stone.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School
Jordan Baggio
This 16-year-old is a linebacker on the varsity football team, which opened the campaign with a 2-1 record. He had contributed one interception and recovered a couple of fumbles; one for a touchdown. He is also active at school in track and field, specializing in shot put. In the community, he plays football in the Orangeville Outlaws organization, and was named MVP this summer. The Grade 11 student lives in Caledon East with his parents Robert and Kathleen Baggio.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School
Anamaria Predoiu
This Grade 10 student has been showing her prowess on the tennis courts. The singles player was first at the recent ROPSSAA Qualifiers, and she will be playing in the ROPSSAA Finals tomorrow (Friday). When not in school, she plays tennis at Tessa Tennis in Concord. The 15-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Andrea and Teodor Predoiu.
Humberview Secondary School
Kasin Grewal
This 16-year-old has been playing setter for the senior boys’ volleyball team, which won its first match. “We killed the other team,” he said. He also plays singles tennis and made it to the semifinals in the first tournament of the year. Away from school, he plays in the Palgrave Tennis Club and with the Caledon East Soccer Club. The Grade 11 student lives in Palgrave with her parents Parag and Angie Grewal.
