Mayfield Secondary School
Sean Fasoyiro
The 16-year-old contributed his skills as point and shooting guard for the senior boys’ basketball team, which went undefeated until the quarter-finals, when they lost by one point to Philip Pocock Secondary School. He was also a cornerback on the senior football team, and is thinking of going out for track in the spring, specializing in hurtles or long jump. In the community, he plays basketball for Hoops Canada Elite in Brampton. The Grade 11 student lives in Strawberry Fields with his parents Jeff and Laura Fasoyiro.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School
Cameron Lavoie
This Grade 10 student was a defenceman on the varsity hockey team that finished second at OFSAA. Away from school, he plays AAA hockey for the Halton Hurricanes, as well as house league lacrosse in the Brampton Attack organization. The 16-year-old lives in Caledon East with his parents Joe-Anne and Luc Lavoie.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School
Victoria Nigro
This 18-year-old is a dancer, and part of the school’s Arts Advantage Dance Program, as well as the After School Angels Inc. Dance Ensemble. She said their end of the year recital is coming up. She’s been dancing with Sondra’s Tri Dance Company in Bolton since she was three. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with her parents Wendy and Nick Nigro.
Humberview Secondary School
Kassidy McMullin
This Grade 11 student is getting ready to show her stuff as a prop or flanker on the senior girls’ rugby team. “We put up a good fight,” she commented, referring to the squad’s first exhibition game. She also played wing on the senior girls’ basketball team in the fall, and was on the senior girls’ volleyball team. Away from school, she used to play basketball in the Caledon Cougars’ organization, as well as figure skate. The 16-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Rosemary and Glenn McMullin.
