DQ Athletes of the Week — April 16, 2015

Mayfield Secondary School Haleigh McKeown This Grade 12 student was a setter on the senior girls’ volleyball team, which was victorious at ROPSSAA, as well as a AAAA Tournament. She has also getting ready to contribute to the rowing team. In the community, she teaches at the Georgetown School of Highland Dance, and enjoys recreational running. The 18-year-old lives in Brampton with her parents Laurie and Marc McKeown.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Travis Mailhot This 15-year-old is planning to play attack on the varsity lacrosse team, which has just started practising. He was also a defenceman on the varsity hockey team that made it to the finals of OFSAA. Away from school, he plays AAA hockey for the Toronto Red Wings in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. The Grade 9 student lives in Caledon East with his parents Janice and Terry Mailhot.

This 15-year-old is planning to play attack on the varsity lacrosse team, which has just started practising. He was also a defenceman on the varsity hockey team that made it to the finals of OFSAA. St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Daniel Frenati The Grade 10 student is a striker on the junior indoor soccer team, which won the recent Hershey Tournament. He contributed three goals to the cause, including the winner on a penalty kick. In the community, he plays soccer in the Mississauga Falcons organization. The 15-year-old lives in Bolton. His parents are Rob Frenati and Carla Belli.

The Grade 11 student lives in Brampton with her parents Shaktie and Anand Persaud.
